Gordon & Gordon Get Redemption on Douglas
April 24, 2021-Dandridge, TN: The fourth stop of the 2021 Morristown Marine Team Trail blasted off in Morristown, TN at Douglas Lake with a field of 229 boats. Anglers were greeted with a cloudy, 45 degree blast off. Bites were not hard to come by, but big fish were few and far between. Rain showers and windy conditions made it tough on the anglers and the bigger fish were difficult to find. In all, 813 bass hit the scales for a total weight of 1,784.00 lbs. Of the 229-boat field, 164 teams weighed at least one fish. 161 teams weighed a 5 fish limit. The total payout for the Douglas tournament was $48,465.00 across 38 places and all contingency money. With all that said, Morristown Marine would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the events of the fatal boating accident yesterday on Douglas Lake. A heavy heart-felt thank you to the first responders, law enforcement and rescue personnel who assisted the injured and tended to the victims. A very big thank you to the good Samaritans who stopped to help the crash victims. I know all four gentlemen personally who stopped to assist and these good people cannot be thanked enough for their dedication and service to their fellow fishermen. We ask that each of you keep the families of all those affected by this accident in your thoughts and prayers. Boating accidents happen, albeit with less regularity than vehicle accidents, but they are nonetheless disruptive to those involved.
