Everett and Trent Fall Into A Big Win
October 26/27, 2024– Morristown, TN: The Morristown Marine Team Trail made the last stop of the 2024 Season in Morristown, TN on Cherokee Lake for Championship Weekend . 174 teams qualified for the tournament and 139 were in the water for blast-off on Day 1 looking to claim a share of the $66,350.00 pay out across 25 places, contingencies and AOY bonuses. We could not have ordered better weather, with overnight lows hovering around 50, no cloud cover, just enough wind to keep the fog away and bright, sun filled 65-70 degree days. With the exception of a monsoon shower halfway through Day 1 weigh-in, the weather was fantastic all weekend.
The fishing was tougher for most anglers than it should have been for the weather and time of year. Of the 139 registered teams, 98 teams weighed at least 1 fish for a total of 497 fish weighed with 496 of them being released alive and well for someone else to catch on Cherokee Lake. A total of 10 teams weighed a limit both days, with a grand total of 1015.75 lbs of fish were brought to the scales. Blast off started at 7:30 on both days. We appreciate all you guys for making that run so smoothly. By far the best group of fishermen in the sport!
The team of Brian Everett and Mark Trent took home the title of 2024 Classic Champs with a 2-day total weight of 30.08 lbs. Brian and Mark told us they fished a variety of baits, depths and structure to put together back-to-back bags of 15.84 lbs and 14.24 lbs, and led both days, wire to wire. They said they fished very clean, and were very thankful to take home a big win! Brian and Mark will take home a check for $30,000.00 for 1st place overall and a check for Highest Finishing Skeeter for $3,000.00. Congrats and a big payday and a great weekend of fishing!
Following in second place was the team of Jeremy Gordon and Philip Gordon with a 2-day total weight of 26.19 lbs. Jeremy and Philip saw 2 solid days of mixed brown and green fish. Jeremy and Philip will cash checks for 2nd place overall ($5,000.00), and 1st Humminbird/MinnKota for $250.00! Great job putting together 2 solid days on a tough weekend!
3rd place was the team of Josh Roark and Hunter Price with a 2-day total weight of 25.30 lbs anchored by a toad largemouth weighing 4.91. Josh and Hunter will cash checks for 3rd Place ($3,000.00), 2nd Highest Finishing Skeeter ($1,500.00), 1st Gray Fox Insurance($250.00), 2nd Humminbird/MinnKota($150) AND Big Largemouth($700.00) totaling of $5,600.00 for their hard work. Way to go, guys! Congrats on a great finish during some really tough fishing!
4th place went to Ryan Epps and Jesse Hurst with a 2-day total of 23.81 lbs. Ryan and Jesse will cash a check for $2,000.00 for 4th place overall. Congratulations on a great weekend of fishing, guys!
Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Scott Seaton and Wandell Lusk with a 2-day total weight of 23.41 lbs. Scott and Wandell had a great finish to the weekend by cashing checks for $1,000.00 for 5th place and another $1,000.00 for 3nd Highest Finishing Skeeter. Great job, guys!

The Citizens Bank Big Largemouth went to the team of Josh Roark and Hunter Price with a stud green fish weighing 4.91 lbs. They will receive a check for $700.00 for catching this toad! Congrats!
